MCCC OFFERING EXCEL AND TEAMS TRAINING TO COMMUNITY

Monroe County Community College's Office of Workforce Development will be offering four of the most requested and popular Microsoft Office non-credit courses to local businesses and individuals this winter. All of these courses will be presented via Zoom.

Microsoft Excel – Basic (MICRO 774, 7 Hours) will be held from 9 – 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 26, 28, February 2 and 4, 2021. This is a basic class for students who are interested in learning one of the most powerful spreadsheet programs on the market.  Topics to be covered include building and editing worksheets; formatting a worksheet; and working with charts, formulas and functions. The cost for this class is $99.

Microsoft Excel – Intermediate (MICRO 802, 7 hours) will be held from 9 - 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 16, 18, 23 and 25, 2021. This follow-up to the basic class will introduce students to some of Excel’s more advanced tools. Participants will learn how to manage and prepare workbooks for the Web, automate worksheet tasks, use lists, analyze list data and enhance charts and worksheets. The cost for this class is $99.

Microsoft Excel – Advanced (MICRO 905, 7 Hours) will be held from 9 – 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 9, 11, 16 and 18, 2021. This is an accelerated, advanced class.  Participants are encouraged to bring in real-life problems for review in the lab.  A course card is included with the course. This class is intended for individuals that have previously enrolled in Excel Intermediate or those who have extensive experience working with Excel. The cost for this class is $99.

How to Use Teams – More than Just Meetings (COMM 744, 2 Hours) will be held from 9 – 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9 and Thursday, February 11, 2021. Teams has become one of the most widely used communication tools during the COVID-19 pandemic. It allows businesses and individuals to meet, chat, call, and collaborate all in in one application. Microsoft Teams works perfectly with Office 365 applications to integrate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook together to make your workplace more efficient.

“In response to requests from local businesses and clients, we have divided the seven-hour classes into shorter segments so students aren’t required to commit a full-day to participate,” said Barry Kinsey, director of workforce development at MCCC.

To register, please email rdrouillard@monroeccc.edu or call 734-384-4229. “These classes will fill up quickly, so we encourage businesses who want to enroll several employees and individuals who are looking to enhance their knowledge and skills contact us early to reserve a seat,” added Kinsey.
