COMMUNITY MEMBERS, STUDENTS, FACULTY & STAFF INVITED TO JOIN STUDY ABROAD TRIP TO EASTERN EUROPE IN MAY 2022

Preparations are well underway for the Monroe County Community College short-term Study Abroad trip for May 2022 to explore Business and Culture of Eastern Europe. The 12-day trip is open to students, faculty, staff and the community.

Travelers will visit Budapest, Hungary; Krakow, Poland; Prague, Czech Republic; and Vienna, Austria. Stops along the way will include visits to Parliament in Austria and Hungary, Auschwitz and the Jewish Ghetto in Poland, the Opera House in Vienna, a cruise down the Danube and much more.

“This is an immersive learning experience,” said Wendy Wysocki, professor of business and economics and coordinator of the Study Abroad Program at MCCC. “As an educational tour, not just a vacation, the places we will visit support classroom studies. Current students will need to have taken or be enrolled in either SOC 161 – Death, Loss and Grief or BMGT 220 – International Business and an associated Study Abroad Experience course during the Summer semester.

“Community members who are not currently registered MCCC students take a two-credit Study Abroad Experience course during the Summer semester. This class prepares all travelers for the various cultural and business explorations we will undertake and enhances the participant’s experience,” she added.

Three more information sessions, two virtual and one in person, are scheduled in the coming weeks. On Wednesday, November 24 at 12:30 p.m., and Thursday, December 2 at 6 p.m. interested persons can learn more via Zoom. The link is available at www.monroeccc.edu/events. There will be an in-person information session on Tuesday, November 30 (Now via Zoom)at 12:30 p.m. in Room F-193 (Founders Hall) on the college’s main campus, 1555 Raisinville Road in Monroe. **T
