THE FOUNDATION AT MCCC AWARDS THE SONYA KAY BRETT BUSINESS AND COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS ENDOWED MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Business and Computer Information Systems Endowed Memorial Scholarship to Kennedy Orlandi and Danielle Patania. Each $1,625 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Orlandi of Newport is a 2020 graduate of Monroe County Middle College. She is studying business management while attending MCCC. Orlandi was a volunteer for the Special Olympics Club that she started with the help of teachers at the Monroe County ISD. She is the daughter of Lee Ann and Brian Paul.

Patania of Monroe is a 2018 graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic Central High School. She is attending MCCC to pursue a degree in business management. Patania is a volunteer at her church helping with the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. She is the daughter of Tom and Kim Patania.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in either a business or computer information systems program, have completed 24 credit hours or more and have a GPA of 2.8 or above. The applicant must be a resident of Monroe County and a U.S. citizen. Also, the student must maintain full-time student status during the scholarship year, which is defined as 12 credit hours.
