The Foundation Monroe County Community College has awarded the D.A.V. Chapter 137 Scholarship to Grace Fisher and Dakota Roberts. The D.A.V. Chapter 137 Scholarship was established at The Foundation at MCCC to provide scholarship support for a MCCC student who is a disabled veteran, an honorably discharged veteran or a dependent of a veteran. Each $500 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Fisher of Petersburg is a 2017 graduate of Summerfield High School. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. She is the daughter of Jeff and Sheri Fisher.
Roberts of Monroe is a 2019 graduate of Monroe High School. He is pursuing a graphic design degree at MCCC. He is a member of Stewart Road Church of God where he is in charge of the video team and is responsible for a portion of the graphics. Dakota is the son of Rich and Kristy.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, Michigan, and a United States citizen, must be a veteran or the child of a veteran, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge and submit a copy of their DD-214, have a 2.5 grade point average or higher. Financial need may be considered in awarding the scholarship.
