The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the C. Ernest Read Scholarship to Rose Tibai. The $1,200 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
This scholarship was established by the estate of C. Ernest Read, one of the founders of MCCC.
Read was actively involved in the early stages of planning the MCCC campus and served on the committee that created the initial guidelines for its development.
Tibai of Monroe is a 2018 home school graduate. She is pursuing an associate of science degree. Tibai is a MCCC member of Phi Theta Kappa, student government, Art Club and is a tutor in the Student Success Center. Rose is the daughter of Mark and Susan Tibai.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above, have earned 24 credit hours and be active in a recognized college organization.
