The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Marilyn Schroeder Memorial Scholarship to Barbara Boone. The $1,150 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Boone of Monroe is a 1995 graduate of Bowsher High School. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC and is a member of the Student Nurses Association and Phi Theta Kappa. Barbara is daughter of Glen and Julie Boone and mother to Clifton and Andre.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a health occupation program or a health-related science curriculum, must have earned 30 credit hours or more toward their degree, must maintain a full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more, must have a 2.8 grade point average or higher and must maintain active membership in a recognized college organization or activity during the scholarship year.
