The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Guire Scholarship to Ashton Allen of Monroe. The $2,300 scholarship is to be used for tuition.
Allen of Trenton is a 2018 graduate of Monroe High School. He is earning an associate degree of science while attending MCCC. Allen is a member of the Gay Straight Alliance Club and has been involved with two MCCC theater productions. He is the son of Orlando and Cathrine Allen.
The Guire scholarship was established by the Iva Mennig Trust to assist with tuition payment for students majoring in math or science who have financial need and have shown academic excellence.
