The Foundation At MCCC Awards The Richard H.hicks & Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Richard H. Hicks and Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarships to Courtney Beaudrie, Kristen Lindquistand and Taylor Werkheiser. Each $1,900 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Beaudrie of Monroe is a 2017 St. Mary Catholic Central High School graduate. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Beaudrie is a member of the Student Nursing Association and Student Government at MCCC. Courtney is the daughter of William and Carrie Beaudrie.

Lindquist of Dundee is a 2000 graduate of Lincoln High School, Ypsilanti, Mich. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Lindquist is a member of the SNA and volunteers at Dundee Elementary School and the Monroe County Humane Society. Kristen is the daughter of Greg Harper and Terry DeCanio and the wife to Eric Lindquist and mother to Lucas Lindquist.

Werkheiser of Flat Rock is a 2015 graduate of Flat Rock Community High School. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Werkheiser is a volunteer for We Care Ministry in Monroe County. Taylor is the daughter of Lisa and Jody Werkheiser.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the registered nursing program at MCCC. Preference will be given to students who are veterans or those who have immediate family members who are veterans.
