MONROE, Mich. – The respiratory therapy program at Monroe County Community College will host RT career information sessions for the public on Thursday, October 3, and Thursday, November 11.
The sessions will be offered at the following times: 12:30 - 1:45 p.m., 3 - 4:15 p.m. and 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. The information sessions will be in Room 157 or 159 of the Welch Health Education Building, located on the main campus of MCCC, 1555 S. Raisinville Road in Monroe.
At the sessions, participants can learn about respiratory therapy careers, including job duties, employment outlook and classes needed to enter the program. Respiratory therapy program faculty will be available to answer questions. Prospective students can also earn a point toward admission into the program by attending.
“These information sessions are a great opportunity for prospective students to attend, especially if they are interested in starting classes at MCCC this January or for admission into the Fall 2020 RT program,” said Dr. Ijaz Ahmed, respiratory therapy program director. “The RT program operates as a cohort group beginning each Fall semester. There are three pre-admission courses students also need to take including Math 151 Intermediate Algebra, Biology 151 Biological Sciences I and Biology 257 Anatomy and Physiology I. Students interested in beginning the RT program with the Fall 2020 cohort may want to take the pre-admission courses in Winter or Summer 2020.” The application deadline for the Fall 2020 program is June 8, 2020.
