Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels will bring their Detroit style of classic rock ‘n’ roll to Monroe County Community College on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater, which is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
Recording such hits as “Devil With A Blue Dress On/Good Golly Miss Molly,” “Jenny Take A Ride,” “C.C. Rider” and “Little Latin Lupe Lu,” Ryder was instrumental in bridging the musical gap between Motown soul and the rock ‘n’ roll sound of the early 1960s.
Dubbed the “Detroit Voice of the 1960s” by Rolling Stone, Ryder was a major musical influence on Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp.
Nearly 400 tickets have been sold, with just over 150 remaining. Tickets for reserved seating are $20.
