The Foundation At MCCC Awards The J.D. Hunter Annual Character Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the J.D. Hunter Annual Character Scholarship to Carmen Sumner. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Sumner of Monroe is a 1987 Manchester High School graduate. She is studying business management while attending MCCC. Sumner volunteers at her daughter’s school, Raisinville Elementary. She is the daughter of Justo and Sylvia Burgos and mother to Johnathon Kennedy and Sylvia Sumner.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be at least a part-time student at MCCC and submit two testimonials from a third party attesting high character demonstrated to the recipient’s integrity.
