The Foundation At MCCC Awards The Helen M. And Eugene W. Beach Nursing/RT Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Helen M. and Eugene W. Beach Nursing/Respiratory Therapy Scholarship to Seth Collins, Brooke Lambrix, Darin Nowak, Brittney Rankin, and Jessica Southerland. Each $2,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition and fees.

Collins of Dundee is a 2017 graduate of Summerfield High School. He is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Collins is currently vice president of MCCC’s Student Council, president of Student Ambassadors Club, is a member of MCCC’s Community Service Club, Student Nurses Association and a counselor for Michigan Youth Leadership (MYLead). He volunteers for GodWorks. Collins is the son of Beth and Tom Collins.

Lambrix of South Rockwood is a 2007 graduate of Jefferson High School. She is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Lambrix is a Writing Fellow and is a member of MCCC’s Student Nurses Association. She is married to Ben Lambrix and mother to Payton Lambrix.

Nowak of Temperance is a 2013 graduate of Bedford High School. He is studying respiratory therapy while attending MCCC. He is a volunteer for Mission of Hope and is a member of the Respiratory Therapy Club at MCCC. He is the son of Kerri and Bryan Nowak.

Rankin of Dundee is a 2006 graduate of Ida High School. She is also studying respiratory therapy at MCCC. Rankin is a member of the Respiratory Therapy Club, serving currently as secretary. She is married to Matthew Rankin and is the mother of Henry and Grace.

Southerland of Monroe is a 2005 graduate of Monroe High School. She is also studying respiratory therapy at MCCC. Southerland is a member of the Respiratory Therapy Club and is the president of the graduating class of 2020. She is the daughter of Donna and Gary Southerland.

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be a Monroe County resident, a second year student enrolled in the registered nursing or respiratory therapy program, demonstrates above average clinical and performance and a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
