Students, Community Members Can Join Spring 2019 Study Abroad Trip; Info Meetings Set

MONROE, Mich. – A Study Abroad Program for MCCC students and community members has been scheduled for May of 2019 to the British Isles.

The trip will include visits to Ireland, Wales and England.  The visit to England will include London and Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town in Warwickshire that is the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

The target dates for the trip are May 13-27, 2019.

While on the trip, students will take coursework to earn credits towards their degree.  Classes offered will include Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing and Art Appreciation.  Students can take one, two or all three of the three-credit courses.  Community members who participate in the tour must enroll in at least one of the courses.

Those interested joining the Study Abroad Program tour of the British Isles can attend one of five information meetings listed below.

The price of the trip is between $3,929 and $4,449.  Information on fundraising and payment options will be discussed in the scheduled meetings.  Individuals must attend a meeting and fill out an application before registering for the trip.

To participate in the trip, students must be 18 years of age, hold a GPA of 2.0 or higher, have two letters of recommendation, pass a criminal background check and register for the trip by Sept. 30, 2018.  Community members must have two letters of recommendation, pass a criminal background check, register by Sept. 30, 2018 and enroll in at least one of the classes offered.

The following informational meetings have been scheduled.  All meetings will be held in the La-Z-Boy Center on the college’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
