*UPDATED* MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College’s accounting program has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service to provide income tax assistance for low- to moderate-income taxpayers who generally earn $54,000 or less.
IRS-certified student volunteers will provide free, basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. Appointments can scheduled through the college’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program website at www.monroeccc.edu/taxassist.
An appointment is recommended but not required. All taxpayers will be served on a first come first-served basis and must arrive and sign in no later than 2 p.m. Children are not allowed in the tax preparation area and cannot be left unattended in the lobby.
Income tax preparation assistance will be available on Fridays from Feb. 23 through April 13 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (closed March 2 and March 30) in the Career Technology Center on MCCC’s Main Campus. The Main Campus is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
