The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Memorial Endowed Nursing Scholarship to Dawn Adkins. The $2,800 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.

Adkins of Monroe is a 1998 graduate of Monroe High School. Adkins is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Adkins is also the Vacation Bible School Director for Heritage Baptist Church and the Cheer Director for the Washington Junior Football league. Dawn is the wife of Seth Adkins and mother of Drew, Noah, Elivia, Will and Grayson Adkins.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second year student in the Registered Nurse Program, a U.S. citizen and a Monroe County resident. Students must maintain a three-quarter-time enrollment which is defined as nine (9) credit hours.
