The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Richard H. Hicks & Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Richard H. Hicks and Bernice Hicks Nursing Education Scholarships to Kayla Maddox, Jessica King and Andrea Rister. The $1,875 scholarships are to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Maddox of Temperance is a 2014 home school graduate. Maddox is studying nursing while attending MCCC. For five consecutive semesters Maddox has been a Writing Fellow at MCCC. Kayla is the daughter of Josh and April Maddox.

King of Monroe is a 1991 graduate of John Glenn High School. King is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Jessica is the daughter of Robert and Eveline King and mother of Alex, Benjamin, Autumn, and Gabriel Molnar.

Rister of Flat Rock is a 1997 graduate of Brethren High School. Rister is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Rister is a member of Girl Scouts of the USA and the Governor’s Honor Guard. Andrea is the wife of James Rister and mother of Kalyn and Khloe Rister.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program at MCCC. Preference will be given to students who are veterans or those who have immediate family members who are veterans.
