The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Midway Products – Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded The Midway Products – Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship to Benjamin Garlepied. The $1,150 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Garlepied of Monroe is a 2017 graduate of a home school program. Garlepied is currently studying mechanical design technology while attending MCCC. As Vice President of MCCC’s robotics club, Garlepied helps mentor high school students on the MCCC robotics team Virus. Garlepied has helped his robotics team win many awards, among them is the highest possible award called the Chairman’s Award. Benjamin is the son of Clay Garlepied.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in one of the following programs at MCCC: Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology, Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Technology. In addition, student must maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more must have and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or higher during their scholarship year and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a Monroe County resident or a child of Midway Products, Inc. employee.
