MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Edward W. Banachowski Community Service Scholarship to Maria Laurell. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Laurell of Carleton is a 2018 homeschool graduate and will be exploring multiple career options while attending MCCC. Laurell participates in Monroe County 4-H, volunteers at her local church, the Salvation Army, and recently went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Maria is the daughter of Robert and Jessica Laurell.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must show expressed interest in and be currently involved in community service. Additionally, a student must be a Monroe County Resident, have a 2.5 GPA minimum, and maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more.
