MCCC Awards the Helen M. and Eugene W. Beach Nursing/RT Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Helen M. and
Eugene W. Beach Nursing/RT Scholarship to Brian Chrapko, Sarah Dusseau, James Hagerman, Marlana Hall, and Jillian Wangbickler. The $1,950 scholarship is to be used for tuition and fees.

Chrapko of Woodhaven is a 1995 graduate of Carlson High School. Chrapko is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Chrapko continues to volunteer for Watch D.O.G.S. in Hunter Elementary School. He has been awarded multiple certificates for the number of volunteering hours he has completed.

Dusseau of Ida is a 2013 graduate of Ida High School. Dusseau is studying respiratory therapy while attending MCCC. Dusseau currently acts as Respiratory Therapy Club Historian and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Sarah is the daughter of Patrick and Catherine Dusseau.

Hagerman of Carleton is a 2000 graduate of Belleville High School. Hagerman is studying nursing while attending MCCC. James is the husband of Julie Hagerman and father of James and Caden Hagerman.

Hall of Monroe is a 2002 graduate of Monroe High School. Hall is studying nursing while attending MCCC. Hall has previously achieved her CNA certification and shortly after opened a homecare service with her brother. In 2015, Hall was recognized by Downriver Profile Magazine as a women of achievement in her career field. Marlana is the mother of David and Makayla Plummer and daughter of Connie Hall and Christopher Campbell.

Wangbickler of Monroe is a 2011 graduate of Monroe High School. Wangbickler is studying respiratory therapy while attending MCCC. Wangbickler has previously been a member of National Honor Society and National Technical Honor society. Jillian is the daughter of Greg and Gayle Wangbickler.

To be eligible for this scholarship a student must be a Monroe County resident, a second year student enrolled in the registered nursing or respiratory therapy program, demonstrates above average clinical and performance and consistently evidence a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
