MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the William J. and Jennie E. Bacarella Scholarship to LaVerne Curley. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.
Curley of Monroe is a 1998 graduate of Jefferson High School. Curley is studying business management while attending MCCC. He is also a member of MCCC Student Government, Ambassador Club, LAN Club and a YMCA volunteer. He is the son of Marie and LaVern Curley.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be majoring in a business-related curriculum, maintain part-time enrollment status of six credit hours or more, and be a resident of Monroe County. In addition, the donor prefers non-traditional students and graduates of St. Mary Catholic Central High School.
