Dawson’s Creek Theme among Grammy-winner’s Hits
MONROE, Mich. – Grammy-winning singer and musician Paula Cole will perform at Monroe County Community College’s La-Z-Boy Center on Friday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m., celebrating the 20th Anniversary her double-platinum album, “This Fire,” which spawned the popular theme song from the hit TV show “Dawson’s Creek.”
The La-Z-Boy Center is located on MCCC’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
“This Fire,” was release in 1996 and went double-platinum. In addition to the “Dawson’s Creek” theme titled “I Don’t Want to Wait,” which was named one of the 100 Greatest Songs of the ‘90s” by VH1, the album spawned the mega-hit, “Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?” “This Fire” was nominated for 7 awards at the 40th Grammys. Cole was also nominated for Producer of the Year (the first woman in Grammy history to be solely nominated as Best Producer) that year and won the Grammy for Best New Artist.
She has performed with icons in many genres of music such as Peter Gabriel, Dolly Parton, Herbie Hancock, Emmylou Harris and Burt Bacharach. Her compositions have been covered by a diverse range of artists, and she has sold approximately 3 million albums.

VIP tickets, which include balcony seating, munchies and a cash bar are available for $25.
