MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has signed a transfer articulation agreement with Northwood University, a specialty business school and leader in managerial and entrepreneurial education. The agreement allows students to complete an associate’s degree in business at MCCC and transfer with junior status to Northwood University or attend the third year at MCCC and enter Northwood with senior status under specific “3+1” programs.
Students will take courses outlined in their selected degree program at MCCC, with a minimum of either 60 (Option 1) or 90 (Option 2) semester hours from MCCC, and then transfer to Northwood to complete the remainder of the minimum 123 semester hours required for its bachelor of business administration degree.
Students who select to transfer to Northwood as juniors under Option 1 can select to complete the final two years of any of its bachelor of business administration degrees. Students who select to complete three years at MCCC and transfer to Northwood as seniors (Option 2) can do so in either accounting or management.
Students in either option can choose to complete the programs either at Northwood’s main campus in Midland, online or at one of its regional education centers. Northwood’s education centers are located throughout Michigan in Alpena, Bay City, Belleville, Flint, Gaylord, Grand Rapids, Livonia, Macomb, Midland, Saginaw, Selfridge (military) and Troy. Regional educational centers are located in California, Kentucky, Louisiana and Texas.
“This agreement is a great benefit to our students because it provides a smooth transition into any of Northwood University’s bachelor of business administration programs,” said MCCC Dean of Business Paul Knollman. “It maximizes the amount of credit that will transfer from MCCC and allows students to avoid duplication of course work. Making higher educational opportunities very accessible and affordable to everyone we serve is a top priority at MCCC, and we’re honored to be able to partner with a great institution like Northwood University.”
