MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sarah Augie (Petree) Tedrick Nursing Scholarships to Angelena Harnisch. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Harnisch, of Monroe, is a 2001 graduate of high school, and is currently studying Nursing at MCCC. She is a member of the Student Nurses Association at MCCC. She has also volunteered at the Monroe County Health Fair, Monroe Veterans Health Fair, Diabetes Health Event, and participated in the 2016 Nursing March in Lansing. She is the wife to Michael Harnisch Jr, and the mother of Michael Harnisch III and Amberlyn Harnisch.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a second year nursing student enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program, must be a U.S. citizen, preference should be given to a young, single parent and the applicant must submit a 500 word essay discussing why they deserve the scholarship and discussing cardiomyopathy.
