MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the William E. Rupp Scholarship to Brittany Mcnew and Elizabeth Owens. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.
Mcnew, of Monroe, is a 2016 graduate of Jefferson High School and is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business Management at MCCC. She has joined the International Studies club, as well as became a member pf Phi Theta Kappa at MCCC. She is the daughter of David and Kristina Mcnew.
Owens, of Monroe, is a 2016 graduate of High School and is currently pursuing an Associate of Science degree at MCCC. She is a member of Student Government at MCCC and a volunteer at the National Park in Monroe. She is the daughter of Elaine and Edward Owens.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a Monroe County resident, an U.S. Citizen and maintain a full-time enrollment status of twelve credit hours or more. In addition, the student must have a GPA of 3.4 or above.
