The Foundation at MCCC Awards the Midway Products – Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – The foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Midway Products – Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship to Jakob Stanard. The $1,100 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Stanard, of Newport, is a 2016 graduate of Jefferson High School and is studying Welding Technology at MCCC. He joined the MCCC International Relations Club and helped raise money for the study abroad classes in the spring semester. He is the son of Robert and Jeanette Stanard.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in one of the following programs at MCCC: Automotive Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology, Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Manufacturing Technology.

In addition, student must maintain full-time enrollment status of 12 credit hours or more, must have and maintain a 2.5 grade point average or higher during their scholarship year and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a Monroe County resident or a child of Midway Products, Inc. employee.
