MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Dave Hartzell Culinary Scholarship to Lexis Phalen. The $2,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Phalen, of Ottawa Lake, is a 2016 graduate of Whiteford Agricultural High School and is currently studying Culinary Skills and Management program at MCCC. She is a member of Phi Theta Kapp. She is the daughter of Troy and Teri Phalen.
To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be a first or second year student in the MCCC culinary skills and management program and be a resident of Monroe County. Financial need will be considered in awarding the scholarship, and this scholarship will be awarded to a student who is not receiving multiple scholarships.
