MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the C. Ernest Read Scholarship to Brian Friley. The $1,100 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books and supplies.
This scholarship was established by the estate of one of the founders of MCCC, C. Ernest Read. Read was actively involved in the early stages of planning the MCCC campus and served on the committee that created the initial guidelines for its development.
Friley of Sylvania, Ohio is a 2013 graduate of Sylvania Northview High School. He is studying respiratory therapy at MCCC and is a member of Student Government. He is the son of Anita and Joel Harold.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have a GPA of 2.5 or above, have earned 24 credit hours and be active in a recognized college organization.
