MONROE, Mich. – The Foundation at Monroe County Community College has awarded the Sonya Kay Brett Business and Computer Information Systems Endowed Memorial Scholarship to Jaynie Gauthier, Nathan Grodi and Kailey Minkowski. The $1,375 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Gauthier, of South Rockwood, is a 2012 graduate of Summit Academy High School North and is studying Business Management at MCCC. She is a member of the Student Government and Psychology Interest Club. Her honors include being on the Dean’s List and receiving the NYLC Award. She is the daughter of Nancy Gauthier
Grodi, of Monroe, is a 2014 Monroe High School graduate and is studying Business Management at MCCC. He is a member of the Writing Fellow Program and Student Government at MCCC and is a volunteer for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program). While attending MCCC he has received the Outstanding Business management Scholar award and the Student Government Golden Plate award. He is the son of Annette Grodi and James Grodi.
Minkowski, of Monroe, is a 2012 graduate of Monroe High School and is currently studying Accounting at MCCC. She has organized a fundraising event for the Humane Society. She is the daughter of Jennifer Ducat and Edward Minkowski.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in either a Business or Computer Information Systems Program, have completed 24 credit hours or more and have a GPA of 2.8 or above. The applicant must be a resident of Monroe County and a U.S. Citizen. Also, the student must maintain full-time student status during the scholarship year which is defined as twelve (12) credit hours.
