Children’s Show Set for Feb. 5
MONROE, Mich. – Nationally acclaimed puppeteer and storyteller Jim West will bring “Aesop’s Fables” – delightful tales of wit and wisdom – to life for children in a show set for Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater.
The show will run one hour in length, and is recommended for grades K-4.
The La-Z-Boy Center is located on MCCC’s Main Campus at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd.in Monroe.
West will bring The Stag at the Pool, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Fox and the Grapes, The Wind and the Sun, and The Lion and the Mouse to life through large and colorful puppets. The audience will meet Aesop himself, in his Greek toga, with his dog, Moral, by his side.
Other beloved characters, ingeniously created from paper bags, newspaper and cardboard boxes, will make their appearance to the enchanting music of Scarlatti, Beethoven, Rossini and Chopin, inspiring the child in all of us.
