Most Among Michigan Community Colleges, Third-most in 5 States and 1 Province
MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College won 10 District 3 Medallion Awards for community college communications on Tuesday night at the District 3 Conference of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations in Ann Arbor – more than any other community college in Michigan and the third-most in the five states and one province that comprise the district.
NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that connects marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges, and its Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communication, honoring excellence exclusively at two-year colleges. District 3 includes Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and the Canadian province of Ontario.
The only two colleges in District 3 that won more awards than MCCC were Ivy Tech Community College, which is a statewide community college with nearly 100,000 students, and Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois, which has about 17,000 students. MCCC has an enrollment of 3,144 students.
Other Michigan community colleges that won awards included Jackson College (9), Kellogg Community College (8), Northwest Michigan College (3) Oakland Community College (2), Washtenaw Community College (2) and West Shore Community College (1). There are 28 community college in Michigan.
MCCC’s awards included two Gold, five Silver and three Bronze. Below is a breakdown of the awards:
