MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Pfc. Dennis J. Miller Jr. Memorial Scholarship to Samantha Bartley. The scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Bartley, of Monroe, is a 2014 homeschooled graduate and plans to get her Associate of Arts Degree at MCCC and then continue her education further in the field of history. She has been involved in 4-H volunteering for several events and service projects and is a Writing Fellow at MCCC. She is the daughter of Leon and Jennifer Bartley.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be majoring in history and/or planning to teach history and co-op/intern at any organization or institution in Monroe County that provides history education or historic preservation. Additionally, a student must maintain a 3.0 GPA and a three-quarter time enrollment status of nine credit hours or more.
