MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Student Nurses Association Scholarship to Catherine Slayton. The scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.
Slayton, of Dundee, is pursuing a career in Nursing at MCCC. She is very involved in many activities in her community, church, family and home - teaching children’s choir, performing a vacation Bible school drama and coaching soccer. She is the wife to Nicholas, mother to Emily, Kaitlyn and Hayley and daughter to Daryl Wiedmann and Karen Francis.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student be enrolled in the Registered Nursing Program or Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate Program at Monroe County Community College, be a member of the MCCC Student Nurses Association (SNA) and have a 3.4 GPA or higher.
