MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Joanne D. Smith Memorial Scholarship to Savannah Ostrowski. The scholarship is to cover costs of tuition, book and fees.
Ostrowski, of Monroe, is a 2013 graduate of Ida High School and is currently studying Nursing at MCCC. Her most recent community involvement has been in the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) as a student nurse volunteer. She is married to Sean Ostrowski and the daughter of Matthew and Melissa Horrigan.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a transfer program, maintain full-time student enrollment status of twelve credit hours, and a member of College/Community Band or Agora Chorale during the scholarship year. Also, the student must be a U.S. Citizen and a Monroe County resident. Preference will be given to an Ida High School graduate and someone who demonstrates financial need.
