MCCC Awards the George Rhodes Scholarship

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the George Rhodes Scholarship to Heather Metheny. The $250 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees, supplies and books.

Metheny, of Monroe, is currently studying Nursing at MCCC. She is currently vice president of the Student Nurses Association at MCCC and class student representative for nursing student body. She is a volunteer for hospice care and an active MRC member. She is married to Wade Metheny and mother of Blake Cabrera.

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must maintain part-time enrollment (enrolled in 6 credit hours) during the scholarship year and maintain a 3.0 GPA. The student must have worked at least one semester in a tutoring program recognized by the Learning Assistance Lab or an academic division at MCCC and remain active in the tutoring program during the scholarship year.
