MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship to Markie LaPointe, of Erie. The scholarship is to be used for tuition, books, and fees.
LaPointe, a 2012 Mason High School graduate, is studying Nursing while attending MCCC. She is currently working at a nursing home as a certified nurse assistant and helps train new employees. She is the daughter of Becky and Mark LaPointe.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County who is studying nursing, has a minimum 2.5 GPA with consideration given to financial need. In addition, it is preferred that the student have volunteer experience, specifically in the health care setting.
