MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Thomas K. and Marie (Cousineau) Keegan Memorial Scholarship to Mitchell Lamour. The $1,000 scholarship is to be used for tuition, books and fees.
Lamour, of Monroe, is a 2015 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School and is pursuing a Criminal Justice degree at MCCC. He was involved with Detroit Edison’s Help the Osprey Movement. He is the son of Brian Lamour and Tamiko Lamour and brother to McKenzie and Andrew Lamour.
To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be a resident of Monroe County, a U.S. citizen, a graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School, have a grade point average of at least 3.2, expressed interest in community service and demonstrated financial need. In addition, the student must maintain full-time enrollment status of at least 12 credit hours per semester during the Fall and Winter terms.
