MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College has awarded the Dr. Florence Ames Fine Art Scholarship to Cassy Fallon and Christen Kern. The $800 scholarship is to be used for tuition, fees and books.
Fallon of Newport is a 2015 Jefferson High School graduate and is currently studying fine arts at MCCC. She received the 2014 Congressional Art Award. She is the daughter of John and Debbra Fallon.
Kern of Monroe is a 2014 Monroe High School graduate and is currently studying fine arts at MCCC. She has volunteers at the Monroe Historical Society as a reenactor abd Kiwanis Club as a lifeguard and also participates in the Monroe County Community College Symphonic Band. She is the daughter of Sandy Kern and Chuck Kern.
