Free Tuition Programs

Through two State of Michigan programs, the Michigan Achievement Scholarship Program and Michigan Reconnect, in-district students at MCCC may qualify to attend MCCC tuition-free. Out-of-district students may be able to have up to the cost of in-district tuition covered.

The Michigan Achievement Scholarship Program's Community College Guarantee is designed for recent high school graduates. Michigan Reconnect is a program for those 25 and over, but for a limited time, this program also covers those 21-24.

Community College Guarantee

Through the State of Michigan's Community College Guarantee program, Monroe County residents who graduated from high school in 2023 and 2024 may be eligible for free tuition and fees at MCCC. In addition to free tuition and fees, students who qualify for a Federal Pell Grant can receive a $1,000 Michigan Achievement Bonus award. Residents who reside outside of Monroe County are eligible to receive the Community College Guarantee to attend MCCC; however, it will cover only up to the cost of in-district tuition.
