Curriculum/Degree Requirements

Monroe County Community College’s Associate of Applied Science Degree in Logistics and Warehouse Management Program is designed to provide the student with a general background in logistics and warehouse management and prepare students for careers as logisticians and related occupations.

Graduates of this program will potentially be prepared for entry-level employment as:

  • Logisticians
  • Warehouse managers
  • Transportation, storage and distribution managers
  • Cargo and freight agents
  • Purchasing managers
  • Inventory control managers
  • Logistics services salespersons
  • Industrial production managers

With the construction of the Gordie Howe Bridge crossing in Detroit as a third auto transport connection between the U.S. and Canada, it is expected that the 1-75 South corridor will see a significant increase in supply chain traffic. There is an expectation of significant increase in warehousing/logistics needs in Monroe County. This program is designed to meet those needs.

There is high job-posting demand in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio and a deep supply of regional jobs. The compensation is higher than the national media salary for logisticians.

The compensation is higher than the national media salary for logisticians. There were 4,896 employers for this kind of job regionally in 2022 compared to 2,851 nationally. There were 180 job postings per month regionally versus 108 nationally. The average salary for logisticians in 2022 regionally was $79,835. Nationally it was $77,022. Regional employment (2022 figures) is expected to grow by 22.5 percent by 2032 up to 6,000 jobs.
