Register for Summer Semester; Classes Begin May 12

Students who register for summer not only graduate sooner, they are more likely to graduate, period. Summer Semester is a great option for current, new and “guest” students. Registration is underway, and classes begin May 12. There are plenty of online choices, and sessions are short – most are 8 weeks.

"Summer classes offer many advantages," said Director of Student Success Gerald McCarty. "They are short and concise, offer smaller class sizes that allow more one-on-one time with the instructor, allow students to catch up from previous reduced course loads, and bring students closer to graduation."

Work Where You Learn

MCCC students are hired for many positions at the college, including for many that provide experience applicable to specific fields of study. These jobs are part-time with a maximum of 20 hours per week. It is the commitment of the college that the candidate is a student first and an employee second; therefore, a student’s class schedule is reviewed and work hours are scheduled accordingly. To be eligible, students must be enrolled for at least six credit hours during the Fall and Winter semesters of employment. To review and apply for student assistant positions, a candidate must register with the Office of Workforce Development at collegecentral.com/monroeccc; fill out the Student Assistant application at https://www.monroeccc.edu/sites/default/files/academics/StudentAssistant-JobApp.pdf and e-mail it to workforce@monroeccc.edu or drop it off at the Office of Workforce Development in the La-Z-Boy Center suite Z-286.

Disability Services

Students with disabilities may be eligible for classroom and test accommodations to provide access to all college facilities and programs. Accommodations are intended to “level the playing field” as much as possible, so the student with a disability has an equal opportunity to succeed. Access is provided while maintaining high academic standards.

Disability Services coordinators are available to assist students with disabilities in all aspects of their educational planning. Students can meet with a disability services coordinator in the Student Success Center to request accommodations, plan their schedule, obtain career and transfer information and receive collaborative services with outside agencies.

Robinhood cast.

MCCC Students Put on "Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood"

"Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood" is a known story that tugs at the heart, is filled with humor, and is applicable to the politics of every age and society. On April 6, under the skillful direction of Angie Lai, MCCC students brought these characters to life. From MCCC Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Scott Behrens: "Bryan Valencia-Jimenez brought his blend of sincerity and comedic timing. Aden Kuhn and Tye Downey brought an abundance of energy to the roles of Friar Tuck and Sir Guy. Gabby Forrester was the charming love interest with a sense of self and strength that elevated her character. The entire cast was amazing."
