Dan Shaw was a beloved faculty member who joined the MCCC staff after a distinguished journalism career. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues, friends, and students who had the pleasure to know him and benefit from his kindness and principled wisdom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dan’s memory to the Dan Shaw Memorial Journalism Fund at The Foundation at Monroe County Community College, which Dan established upon his retirement from MCCC in 2019.

Dan was passionate about supporting students pursuing a career in journalism. Upon his retirement from MCCC, Dan created this fund to enrich the learning experience for students in Journalism, including students working on the Agora student newspaper. The Shaw family asks that anyone wishing to honor Dan's memory consider making a gift to the Dan Shaw Memorial Journalism Fund.
