Conquering Shame, Seeing Yourself
Thursday, February 22 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm | La-Z-Boy Atrium
Have you ever felt like you were not enough?
The power of shame destroys lives and relationships, and indiscriminately haunts us regardless of age, race, gender-identity, or religious belief.
King Jesus offered a radical solution at the cross: VULNERABILITY: “for the joy that was set before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame…” Hebrews 12:2.
Research professor Brene’ Brown affirms Jesus’s radical solution: “Vulnerability is the core of shame and fear and our struggle for worthiness, but it appears that it's also the birthplace of joy, of creativity, of belonging…”.
MC6 will define shame, and show how to despise it, and how to defeat it daily—through teaching, stories, small groups, and songs.
All are welcome! You do not have to love Jesus to join us. You only need to hate shame:)
