African American Civil War Soldiers including Monroe and Lenawee Counties
David Ingall served on the committee that designed and developed the Monroe County Civil War Fallen Monument at Monroe’s Soldiers & Sailors Park, and also as chairman of the monument dedication ceremony on May 27, 2012. Dave researched and wrote the booklets: Monroe’s Historic Woodland Cemetery, Monroe’s Woodland Cemetery Civil War Tour and Adrian’s Oakwood Cemetery Civil War Tour. He also wrote the text for the “Camp Monroe” historical marker, dedicated on July 4, 2014 and co-authored the book, Michigan Civil War Landmarks, published by History Press in April 2015.
Dave is a graduate of Western Michigan University, spent 28 years in sales and management in the grocery industry, and is the past assistant director of the Monroe County Historical Museums. He is a member of the Nash-Hodges Camp #43 SUVCW (Commander), Monroe County Historical Society (Board of Directors) and the Little Big Horn Associates.
