MCCC hosting Youth Apprenticeship Week event for high school and college students with SEMCA Michigan WORKS!

Monroe County Community College is hosting a free information session with SEMCA (Southeast Michigan Community Alliance) Michigan Works for those interested in learning more about apprenticeship opportunities. 

The event, Thurs. May 9, 2024, will be held in MCCC's Career Technology Center on the college's Main Campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Road, Monroe, MI from 4 - 6 p.m. 

As one of several events in the region in celebration of Youth Apprenticeship Week, the event at MCCC will focus on apprenticeships for high school and college students, especially in the skilled trades. 

Registration is required at SEMCAMiWorks.org/YAW-2024 for this immersive and informative tour that will include hands-on stations and activities such as virtual reality welding, impact nail driving, floor installation and more. Representatives from Registered Apprenticeship programs, employers, local skilled trade unions along with instructors with local high school and college programs will be on hand to answer questions.
