MCCC’s Accounting Program To Provide Free Income Tax Assistance

MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College’s accounting program has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service to provide income tax assistance for low- to moderate-income taxpayers who generally earn $55,000 or less and need assistance preparing their own tax returns.

IRS-certified student volunteers will provide basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.  Individuals who would like to have their tax returns prepared by IRS-certified volunteers can schedule an appointment through the college’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program page.

An appointment is recommended but not required.  Children are not allowed in the tax preparation area and cannot be left unattended in the lobby.

Income tax preparation assistance will be available on March 1, 15, 22 and 29 and April 5 and 12 in the Career Technology Center on MCCC’s Main Campus between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.  The Main Campus is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.

Please refer to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program page for information on important documents to bring.
