MCCC TO HOLD POLITICAL INFORMATION FORUM
MONROE, Mich. – All members of the public are invited to Monroe County Community College on Thursday, February 25 from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. for the first-ever MCCC Public Political Information Forum.
This event will feature information tables sponsored by national, state and local candidates and current office holders. Most political leaders and candidates representing Monroe County and the surrounding regions have been invited. Attendees will learn how to locate information about candidates or how to volunteer for campaigns.
Materials will be available regarding voter information resources and voter registration. In addition, there will be information available about working at the local precincts.
This event is sponsored by Dr. Joanna Sabo’s political science students and MCCC Student Government under the auspices of the Michigan Democracy Institute, a consortium being developed out of a partnership between the League of Women Voters, Henry Ford College, the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Wayne State University, Oakland Community College, Monroe Community College, and Schoolcraft Community College. The process of formally establishing the consortium is underway.
