MCCC TO HONOR DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. WITH DIVERSITY FAIR, MARCH
MONROE, Mich. – Monroe County Community College will celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his contributions to racial justice and equality with a diversity fair on Monday sponsored by the MCCC Diversity Committee.
The event will take place at the Audrey M. Warrick Student Services/ Administration Building in the Admissions Area Hallway, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
At 11:15, before the Diversity Fair begins, a group of volunteers will assemble a “We Shall Overcome March." It will begin in front of the Career Technology Center. The public is invited to join the march.
MCCC is located at 1555 S. Raisinville Rd. in Monroe.
At the Diversity Fair, information on various dimensions of diversity will be showcased including women, Islam, and Hispanic, African American and Native American cultures. International desserts will also be served.
MCCC student clubs will be represented, and several county service organizations will also be in attendance, providing information and seeking volunteers. These include organizations such as Court Appointed Special Advocates, United Way, and Family Counseling and Shelter Services.
