||Protecting Our College
In the 2016 general election on Nov. 8, local voters can choose to protect our college – a community resource more than 50 years in the making.
Monroe County Community College will ask county voters to approve an additional .95 mill property tax levy for a period of 5 years. The money will be used for critical maintenance and renovation projects, protecting the community’s more than 50-year investment in the college’s buildings and infrastructure. Included will be projects to update safety, accessibility, technology and the learning environment, as well as maintenance that has been deferred because of tight budgets.
If approved, the millage would generate an estimated $5.38 million in revenue in 2016.
