JOURNALISM AND HUMANITIES INSTRUCTOR

Full-time Instructor position primarily responsible for teaching courses in Communications and Journalism.  This position also manages The Agora, the student newspaper.  Additional duties include promoting, directing, developing, and implementing the Journalism curriculum and attending regional and national conferences with student journalists.  Candidate expected to remain current in latest Communications Technologies and to develop curriculum in applicable subject areas.  Instructor establishes and maintains an advisory committee comprised of Industry stake holders. Faculty must also have at least 18 graduate credits in another humanities discipline (e.g.: English, Philosophy, Spanish, German, French, or Communications) and be prepared to teach in it, if needed.  As an integral member of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division, the faculty member is expected to develop effective collegial relationships, work closely with students and local employers, and take part in promotion of Division programs and the College in general. Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university/college in a field or discipline directly related to the topics to be instructed plus 18 graduate program credits in Journalism.  As well, the candidate must possess secondary qualifications (18 graduate credit hours) in another Humanities discipline.  Any computation of minimum qualifications in noted disciplines (both primary and secondary) will be considered.  Minimum of two years of recent successful occupational/professional experience in Journalism.  Experience teaching at the collegiate level with ability to identify and implement assessment of student learning strategies.  Experience in delivering instruction in blended or online formats a plus. TECHNICAL SERVICES/REFERENCE LIBRARIAN

Under the leadership of the Director of the Library, provides onsite and virtual technical and reference services to library users; serves as system administrator for the library’s integrated library system OCLC Worldshare; catalogs library materials using MARC, Library of Congress, RDA, and AACR2 standards, as well as, Dewey Decimal subject headings and cutter numbers; oversees the acquisitions process (selection of titles, processing requests, preparation and completion of orders) and technical processing of materials; and recommends materials to faculty to support the curriculum and participates in collection development.  Continue to keep abreast of current trends in academic libraries.  Participate in College-wide committees and/or task forces.  As an integral member of the Library, individual expected to develop effective collegial relationships, work closely with students, and take part in the promotion of the area programs and the College in general. Qualifications include: Master’s degree from an accredited library school; 2-4 years instructional and reference experience in an academic library; experience with serials management; commitment to customer service; and excellent oral and written communication skills. MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY/WELDING INSTRUCTOR

Instructor primarily responsible for teaching in Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program. Classroom instruction in materials technology, welding and non-destructive testing methods. Specific teaching assignments may include, but not limited to, industrial materials, nuclear materials, weld testing and evaluation, and welding metallurgy. Qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science Technology, Welding Engineering, Welding Technology, or Manufacturing Technology. Teaching experience in an educational institution preferred. Background and certification in non-destructive methods, ASNT strongly desired. Experience and expertise in one or more areas of material science such as nanotechnology, plastics, polymers, and composite materials desired. Ability to perform hands-on welding strongly desired. CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT INSTRUCTOR

Full-time position Instructor responsible for the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Construction Management program in Division. Duties include teaching and advising AAS degree and certificate students in Construction Management. Bachelor’s degree required in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or appropriate related technical field.  Bachelor’s degree holders:  Minimum of 5 years full-time US commercial or industrial and/or residential construction industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility, culminating in a project management position. Bachelor’s degree with PE and Architect Registration highly desirable. Master’s degree holders:  Minimum of 3 years full-time US commercial or industrial and/or residential construction industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Previous teaching experience preferred.  Base salary $51,329-$63,057, negotiable based on education and experience; complete benefit package. AUTO ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

Full-time Instructor primarily responsible for teaching courses in the Auto Engineering Technology program. Additional duties include promoting, directing, developing, and implementing daily operation of Auto Engineering program including development of new curriculum, assisting in selection of appropriate adjunct (part-time) faculty for the program, and equipment planning and procurement for program area in the lab. Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering Technology or in the Engineering field or Associate’s degree in Automotive Engineering Technology or Automotive Service Technology OR Engineering Technology and 4,000 hours of hands-on automotive work-related experience. Exception to the above may be considered with appropriate qualifications and work experience in the profession.  Teaching experience preferred. APPLIED SCIENCES & ENGINEERING TECH INSTRUCTORS (PT)

Part-time adjunct Instructors needed in the following areas:

  1. Automotive – with relevant NATEF/ASE certifications.
  2. CNC Machining – conversant with use of CAM software.
  3. Construction Management – background in LEED, Construction Safety, Renewable solar and wind, Scheduling, estimating. Knowledge of BIM software, AutoCAD, scheduling software such as Primavera, MS Project useful.
  4. Welding – proficient in all welding process and NDT inspection techniques.

Qualifications include Associate of Science degree and/or Journey person card; Bachelors of Science degree preferred. Work experience in the respective area required.
