recognize the need and importance of facilitating the transfer of students
from one institution to the other as they pursue their educational goals.
In an effort to facilitate the transfer process and to promote the closer
coordination of academic courses and programs and degrees offered by our
institutions, we do hereby enter into the following articulation agreement.
1. A Monroe County Community
College student who has successfully completed the requirements of the
Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in a specified transfer
program that is described in the attached addendum will be admitted to
The University of Toledo College of Business Administration, with the
understanding that all established deadlines and procedures have been
met, with full junior standing and will be entitled to all rights offered
to native junior students at The University of Toledo College of Business
Administration. Such rights would include but not be limited to: award
and distribution of financial aid, campus housing, priority in registration,
selection of courses, and other student services.
2. Students who have completed
the Associate of Applied Commerce degree will be admitted to The University
of Toledo College of Business Administration and will have their credits
evaluated on a course-by-course basis as determined by the attached transfer
guide. Courses equivalent to the College of Business Administration junior-
and senior-level courses but not listed in the attached guide must complete
a validation procedure. This procedure includes three options: proficiency
examination; presentation of course credentials for review; or successful
completion of advanced course work in the same subject field with a designated
grade and permission from the appropriate department chairperson.
3. Students who have successfully
completed an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at Monroe
County Community College who matriculate to The University of Toledo College
of Business Administration under the terms of this agreement shall be
considered to have completed the lower division general education/liberal
arts requirements established at The University of Toledo College of Business
Administration as part of the college's requirements for the Bachelor
of Business Administration.*
4. The University of Toledo
College of Business Administration cannot guarantee that students who
transfer under the provisions of this agreement will complete all the
requirements at The University of Toledo College of Business Administration
within two years or by earning an additional 64 semester hours at The
University of Toledo College of Business Administration.
* In some cases it may
be necessary for students to take additional courses so that they have
mastered the same topics as native students.
All credits transferred
from Monroe County Community College shall be placed into the student's
academic program at The University of Toledo College of Business Administration
in accordance with the scheme of course classification in effect at The
University of Toledo College of Business Administration for native students
(i.e. core or general curriculum, major fields, free electives, etc.).
5. Students transferring
from Monroe County Community College to The University of Toledo College
Business Administration prior to completion of the associate degree will
have their credits and courses evaluated on a course-by-course basis as
to their acceptability and application to core and/or general education/liberal
arts requirements for the Bachelor of Business Administration at The University
of Toledo College Business Administration.
6. Upon transfer from Monroe
County Community College to The University of Toledo College of Business
Administration, the student must comply with the curriculum/program regulations
in effect at the time of admission into the Business Administration Program
at Monroe County Community College unless a period of more than five years
has transpired.
7. Monroe County Community
College will designate an official(s) who will be responsible for all
aspects of the articulation program at Monroe County Community College.
The University of Toledo College of Business Administration will designate
individuals responsible for all aspects of this articulation agreement
at The University of Toledo College of Business Administration.
8. The University of Toledo
College of Business Administration will provide Monroe County Community
College with course equivalent information regarding Monroe County Community

equivalent courses. This information will be communicated within Monroe
County Community College to facilitate student counseling/advisement and
appropriate educational planning.
9. Both parties agree to
communicate the conditions of this agreement to their respective publics
(external and internal constituents). The University of Toledo College
of Business Administration and Monroe County Community College will review
this agreement every two years in conjunction with The University of Toledo's
catalog production schedule and will make adjustments or amendments as
deemed appropriate for the improvement of the transfer process and student
articulation. It is understood that such changes will not adversely affect
students already enrolled and covered under the provisions of the existing
agreement.
10. Either party reserves
the right to terminate this agreement providing that at least one year's
written notice of the proposed termination date is given.
This agreement is effective
as of December 1, 1997.
